Looking for a desert plant?
This palette provides one-page summaries of scores of native and desert-adapted plants. Richly photographed, each PDF will give you all of the information you need to choose the right plant for the right place.
Each PDF includes three photos: One of the entire plant, and two close up photos - one each of the plant’s foliage and another of its flower. The exception to this rule is Agaves which don’t bloom until right before they die. Plant summaries contain specific information on plant size, bloom period, foliage description, site preferences and landscape uses. There is also information on hardiness, growth rates and maintenance considerations.
The research that supports each plant summary is mine, gleaned from a variety of credible sources along with my own observations and experience. The specifics are based on agreement across these sources.
In doing your own plant research, you may find that the attributes listed for a plant in this palette varies slightly from what you learn elsewhere. I’ve done my best to make sure that each summary is an accurate description of each plant in every way.
The number of plants in this palette will continue to grow as I research more plants, take more photos and improve my understanding of plant behavior.
